Day 5 - Sunday 14th April, 2013

On possibly the coldest day ever recorded in San Diego, the results on Day 2 of the Flo Jo International were outstanding. In many cases boys were competing into strong head winds with a distinct smell of tacos and burritos coming across the Mexican border. A full list of results appears below.

The hospitality shown to us by Elizabeth Tait, Coach Wyatt and the entire Flo Jo Track and Field Club will be remembered fondly for many years to come. Elizabeth is the sister of Florence Griffith-Joyner who still holds the 100m and 200m world records, with her time of 10.49s in the 100m being arguably one of the greatest records that may never be broken.

A highlight of the day was the Harlem Shake (YouTube craze) performed prior to the start of the 1500m. See link here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/usatrackandfieldtour/8651513546/in/photostream

After bidding farewell to San Diego we arrived back in LA, greeted by the Hollywood sign as we travelled down the Ventura Highway to our hotel for the next 6 nights. A relaxing dinner at a traditional American diner and we were ready for a good night's sleep before our Disney adventure tomorrow.

Best wishes.
